This module can be done on its own or as part of the safeguarding refresher course.
Define mental health and wellbeing.
Recognise and explore the spectrum of mental health and wellbeing.
Learn about the key issues around health and wellbeing for children and young people in Scotland. Identify common mental health problems in children and young people such as: anxiety, stress, depression, self-harm, eating disorders and suicide, and identifying the signs and symptoms of each.
Respond, Report & Record a situations you find yourself in. How to intervene to support a child or young person affected by mental wellbeing or mental health problems, and what should you do next. you will do this by working through some simple scenarios. Signpost to get support and further information.
This is an e-learning course, it will be delivered through self-paced online learning.
